Both components are related, and we recommend taking them both within 6 weeks of each other. We would commend taking the Core Hardware exam first.
The sample tests should give you an accurate assessment of how well you'll do on the actual exam. And yes, we've provided the answers and their explanations for each test.

CompTIA will ask many questions that are ambiguous or that call on your memory of details. Rather than trying to remember every detail, we provide many strategies and methods for analyzing the questions themselves for the correct answers.
